Our Environmental Commitment
It is fashionable these days for builders and developers
to claim they are "Green Builders". For many , environmentalism and
sustainability are just advertising gimmicks.
At Bill Eich Construction we are committed to minimizing
the environmental impact of the buildings we construct. Its
simply the right thing to do ! Our homes typically consume less
than half the heating and cooling energy of a typical home the same size.
We select products that require less resources to manufacture and ship,
and are more durable, reducing maintenance and replacement. Less energy
means less air pollution as well as a host of other benefits to the environment
and society.
Over the last 25 years, we have invested thousand
of hours - and dollars- to learn and implement the latest techniques for energy
efficient, environmentally sensitive building. What we've learned is
incorporated into everything we build. But we're not satisfied! We
are constantly testing and incorporating the latest technologies, products and
design principles to meet our commitment.
Our pioneering work in Energy Efficiency has received
national recognition. Our president Bill Eich, is a frequent
speaker and consultant to other
building professionals, and government agencies on advanced building techniques.
Our homes all meet or exceed the standards of the
US EPA Energy Star ®
Program . In 2000, one of our projects was
selected by the National Homebuilders Association for its prestigious
"Energy Value
Housing " Gold Award.
We invite our clients to share our commitment, and
in so doing enjoy homes that
are healthier, more durable, and far more economical to operate and maintain
than conventional homes.

We are fortunate to be able to live and work
in the Iowa Great Lakes area.
The real strength of the area is based on more than our natural resources, and a
vibrant economy. The spirit of generosity and public service
that thrives here is what makes us a great community.
At Bill Eich Construction, we actively
encourage community service and support by our employees, our trade partners,
and clients. In that spirit, from time to time, this page will feature
new opportunities for community involvement which we support.
This month our featured project is a
favorite of our employees- Habitat for Humanity. Habitat is
the worlds largest builder of homes for the poor. It offers low income
families the opportunity to have decent affordable housing, and the pride that
comes with home ownership. The homes are built by neighbors volunteering
their time to give these families a chance at the American Dream. The
families who receive the home, invest "sweat equity" and assume a
no-interest mortgage. This summer, the local Habitat affiliate is
building a home in Milford Iowa. We encourage all to get involved.
